Fleas or Siphonaptera, are very small, 1/12 to 1/16 of an inch, which feed on the blood of animals, such as dogs and cats...even humans! This fact is bothersome because fleas carry parasites and disease organisms which can infect the animal host when bitten. The reproductive cycle is usually 7 to 10 days and populations can become quite high if left untreated. Professional treatment is highly recommended since fleas have a complicated life-cycle and eggs are
normally difficult to destroy with "over-the-counter" prescriptions.
