The Brown-Banded Cockroach or Supella longipalpis, is about 5/8" long with two brownish-yellowish bands on wings. This species is nocturnal, able to fly, and can be found just about anywhere in a building. However, they prefer warm, dry areas. They are confused many times with German cockroaches because of close physical characteristics. The Brown-Banded cockroach tends to lay its' eggs in furniture.

The American Cockroach or Periplaneta Americana, is about a 1/2 inch long, reddish-brown and is among the largest of the cockroach species. This species is extremely aggressive. Its' diet consists' of almost anything it can find. Prefers warm, damp areas. This species is also know as a "Water bug."

The German Cockroach or Blattella germanica, is about 5/8" long, light to medium brown. Prefers moisture and warmth. This species is also nocturnal and can be found mainly in food areas in homes, apartments, restaurants and supermarkets. Eggs are laid every 20 to 25 days, each egg capsule contains 18 to 48 eggs. Therefore, populations can grow rapidly leading to a serious infestation.
