
Roof Rat
The Roof rat or Rattus rattus, is black to brown, 7 to 10
inches in length with a long tail. Smaller and more slender
than the Norway Rat. This species is an excellent climber
and can enter many areas of a structure. Very agile, can fit
through entry ways as small as a 1/2 inch. Generally nest
inside a home or building, although will nest in wood or
rubbish. Also the carrier of many serious diseases.

Norway Rat
The Norway Rat or Rattus norvegicus, is 6 to 8 inches in length, brown and heavy-bodied. Has small ears and eyes; tail is shorter than body length. This species burrows under ground and enters buildings in search for food; generally nocturnal. Breeds about four to seven litters per year, 8 to 12 per litter. The Norway rat is the most common rodent in the U.S. This species also is the carrier of many serious diseases.

House Mouse
The House Mouse or Mus Musculus, is fairly small, about 1"
long and slender. Large ears and small eyes are common
traits; light brown to grey in color. Nests' in building
structures which are about 10 to 30 feet from food source.
This species breeds extremely efficiently, every 40 to 50
days, 4 to 7 young per litter. This can be a problem since
they are carriers of many serious diseases.
