Pharaoh Ants or Monomorium Pharaonis, are small, 1/16 inch, light
yellow in color. Pharaoh Ants are not very picky when it comes to
nesting. They will nest just about anywhere, as long as it is hidden.
Food areas are more susceptible. These ants are true pests.
Colonies can average into the millions making them a true nuisance. Be careful! Identification is of the utmost importance in treating this species. Misidentifying them could make the problem worse! If Pharaoh Ant colonies are "sprayed" with a pesticide, generally, the colony will split and form NEW colonies, therefore, multiplying the population and causing a bigger problem then before treatment!
